Our art classes are for exploring techniques. They are generally small so it is similar to having private lessons for a reasonable price.
Every Tuesday 10:30AM-11:30 AM- Age 5-9: This is a homeschool art class for this age group. You can text 702-914-4154 to reserve your spot and then show up and pay in person. It is $15 a session. We will choose from a variety of materials to play with and have a theme for each session.
Tuesday Evenings 6-7:30pm age 12+ : Each Tuesday evening we focus on a different technique. This is age 12+, we don't cover anything inappropriate for kids, it just isn't for the littles.
August 5th- Working with Watercolor-Let's explore using watercolor pencils, liquid watercolors, and mica powders.
August 12- Gelli Printing with Fabric paint- Gelli printing is a form of printmaking that is a lot of fun and quite surprising. We will be using fabric paint. Please bring a couple items to print on like a t-shirt, or a tote bag.
August 19-Figure Drawing- This will be a beginner class on figure drawing. We will have a clothed model and we will practice doing quick sketches and fully developed tones. Please bring a sketchbook. We will provide drawing materials.
August 26- Gelli Printing Ceramics- Gelli Printing can also be done with glazes and then it can be applied to the surface of a vessel. Please bring your own ceramic pieces or pieces will be available for purchase for a reduced price.
Thursdays Evenings 6pm-7:30/8pm Age 12+: On Thursday Evenings we explore alternative materials like sewing and embroidery.
August 7- Sew a Tote or Waterbottle holder- $25 We will learn how to use a sewing machine to sew straight lines and connect fabric together to make a tote. We will also attach straps and learn the best pattern to use. You can choose a water bottle holder instead that will be a cylinder design. If you have extra time you can add a pocket.
August 14- Beginning Crochet-$20- This is a great intro class for learning crochet. We can change it up according to the participants needs. We provide the hooks and the yarn.
August 21- Beaded Embroidery:$20 In this class you pick a fabric and a design and then you fill in the design with beads. It is a little time consuming and you may have to take beads home with you to finish or you are welcome to bring your project back in for free studio time to finish it.
August 28- Make a Wand: $20- Use Polymer clay to build your own wand. You can also bedazzle it with beads. Then we will bake it to harden it.
September 4-Sewing on Alternative stuff:$20- Try out sewing on different materials like canvas and paper. You can make a collage and then handstitch through it or use our sewing machines to add stitch lines as design elements.
