Art Classes

Our art classes are for exploring techniques. They are generally small so it is similar to having private lessons for a reasonable price.
Working with Watercolor: We explore working with liquid watercolor and watercolor pencils. We learn about color mixing, layering, and erasing.
Thread:Beaded Embroidery: Participants decide on a design. We paint it on the clothe. Then we fill in the design by sewing on beads and adding embroidered details.
Artist Trading Cards: Participants receive a small trading card size paper. They then draw, paint, collage anything they want on it. When finished they put their social media or contact info on the back. Then they can trade with someone at the event or they can exchange one with our trading card board. If you find another card you really want, you can purchase it for $10.
Gelli printmaking: Gelli printmaking is a form of mono printing. You use a roller, gelli plate, and acrylic paint to try out different designs.
Charcoal Drawing: Participants will learn how to use different thicknesses of charcoal pencils and sticks.
Brushing Alpaca Wool: Participants will receive a bag of unbrushed alpaca wool and a comb. This is a very relaxing activity where you methodically brush wool until it is smooth and snarl free.
Watercolor Card Donation: Participants pay $10 and receive supplies to make multiple cards. When finished, the cards are donated to Meals on Wheels, to be included in meal deliveries.
Acrylic Layer Painting: Participants will learn how to add different mediums to acrylic paint to thin, thicken, and add texture. This increases the options for using acrylic paint.
Spinning Alpaca Wool: Participants will learn how to spin alpaca wool into yarn by using a hand spindle.
Collage Technique: Participants will learn how to use collage to decorate objects.
Beginning Crochet: Participants will learn basic crochet stitches and understand how to increase and decrease stitches to design pieces.
